The Cinema is in the loft of the first blue building at The Old Harbour, door no 2.
The Cinema is located in a loft of an old fisherman´s dwelling and working place that has been transformed into a cinema, without loosing the charm of the old building. A cozy and authentic place to enjoy quality Icelandic nature and culture films - and more ...
The old loft is a cozy and unique cinema, where you can enjoy Icelandic documentaries, brows trough books, look at a rock collection, have refreshments and more.
It is popular to bring school groups to The Cinema, especially in the winter time. In early 2013 over 30 schools, mostly from England, had visited The Cinema. The picture shows visitors from England, who also learned to knit out of Icelandic wool - LOPI - and with them is Eddie, The Cinema dog. (Photo: Julia Jones)
The Old Harbour is bustling with life on sunny days, as the picture taken outside The Cinema shows. Next door is a restaurant, The Harbour, that serves delicious traditional Icelandic food, prepared in a modern manner. It is possible to arrange for a Harbour meal to be enjoyed while watching a show at The Cinema
It is easy to enjoy life at the Old harbour on sunny days, as the young Icelandic girl is doing at the small boat harbour in front of The Cinema. (She is actually the granddaughter of The Cinema´s owners)
There is lot to see and enjoy at the Old harbour, such as colourful boats. Better, yet, to take a ride around the harbour ...
Old whale hunting ships can be seen at the Old harbour Reykjavík.

Eddie is a Jack Russel dog and although he has not gotten an official part in our movies yet he is often at The Cinema, as he hates to be left alone at home.
In the spring of 2010 a volcanic eruption started in Eyjafjallajökull. First at Fimmvörduháls and then in the Eyjafjalljökull volcano itself
Huge ash cloud spread from the Eyjafjallajökull eruption 2010 all over Northern Europe - and of course parts of Iceland
There are countless waterfalls in Iceland. Many are shown in our films, such as this one - Háifoss - in Thjorsardalur valley in South Iceland.
Some say it is Iceland´s most beautiful waterfall - but see it any many more in the film BIRTH OF AN ISLAND - the making of Iceland
Some think it is the most beautiful bird of the north. Puffins can be found in sea cliffs all around Iceland - and there is even a puffin island very close to Reykjavik
At Látrabjarg cliffs in the West-fiords of Iceland are countless sea birds; among them the much loved puffin.
Látrabjarg cliff in the West fiords is known the world over for its rich birdlife

A walking tour in the highlands of Iceland leaves no one untouched; glaciers, hills, deserts, blue sky and arctic plants ...

Young Icelandic girl horseback riding on Icelandic thoroughbred horse, which are good tempered and strong horses; ideal for children
Walking distance from the old harbour is this sculpture filled with natural hot water. It is meant to be enjoyed as one takes foot bath and gazes out at the sea. Here the film maker Valdimar Leifsson enjoys the bath with his dog. Behind is one of the few remaining shark drying huts; have you tasted rotten shark?
There are countless lakes in Iceland. This beautiful lake is called Medalfellsvatn and it is located on the West coast of Iceland
High in the huge glacier Vatnajökull, South-Iceland, are the mountains Esjufjöll. How can there be flora and fauna in abundance on a glacier?
Group of scientists researching the flora in Esjufjöll mountains in Vatnajökull Glacier
In spite of short summers and harsh winters there are beautiful flowers to be found all over the island
High up in the mountains in Iceland one can discover fields of beautiful flowers, such as the arctic river beauty.
Glacier and a fragile beauty!
